The only guide you'll ever need for Día de Muertos

Día de Muertos is the perfect time to immerse yourself in Mexican culture and the Spanish language with our events happening this month.

There's no doubt Día de Muertos is one of the most special days there is in Mexico. While it's celebrated in most of Latin America, as my neighbor from Paraguay says, "¡México es lo máximo!" ("Mexico is the most awesome!") Día de Muertos is steeped in traditions from the Aztecs honoring their dead. But it also includes more recent creative obras (artistic works) from Mexican artists in the 19th and 20th centuries, like the catrinas and alejibres. (See the gif below from Disney's Coco for an example of both).

Come with us and find out why this holiday is so incredibly special by... 🏵️ making a nicho (shadowbox) honoring your loved one

🏵️ creating your own lovely corona de flores (flower crown) to wear

🏵️ taking a fantastic Día de Muertos tour of Tijuana

🏵️ making paper cempasúchil (marigolds) for your altar (ofrenda)

🏵️ exploring Guadalajara and Michoacán's Día de Muertos celebrations

🏵️ painting alejibres with your kids (think Disney's Coco)

🏵️ enjoying traditional Mexican food for Día de Muertos while building an ofrenda in Tijuana

You can see all of our online events and our in-person events in San Diego and Tijuana. Many of our events are perfect for the entire family. By going to our Día de Muertos events you'll be improving your Spanish while fully immersed in beautiful and meaningful Mexican traditions.
